Best management I've ever had and everyone is there to help each other succeed! There are so many opportunities to move up and so many people to help you achieve your goals. It can be challenging but it keeps the job interesting!
Was told one thing in the first phone interview and an entirely different thing in the second. Inconsistency throughout the hiring process. Had no idea what I would be doing my first day. Was told I would pick up equipment and go home so was ill prepared my first day. After the first week they told us our schedules arent guaranteed and you need to bid on your shift after you become certified. Not good for people with families. Supervisors speak to you in a condescending manner if you dont immediately comply with requests or if you dont immediately understand something. V. Disorganized.
Pros
Wages and Benefits
Cons
Everything besides wages and benefits
Geico is a really great place to work so far. If you work hard, you will get raised accordingly each year. Profit sharing is a great benefit we look forward to each year. If your role requires you to be on the phone, you would more than likely be on the phones all day till you leave.
Pros
401k, healthcare, piad vacation, floating holiday, annual raises
Cons
Lots of work to do.
I worked in the salvage/total loss department. The hours for that department were the best by far in the company because they were only open 8am-9pm EST Monday- Friday. You had to start on an evening shift and hope to be moved up to an earlier one based on your numbers. I had high numbers, but shift change applications only happened 1-2 times per year, so I never got a shift change in the 2 years I worked there. I worked 1-9 and 11-7 during my 2 years which was much better than other departments. The coworkers were great. I liked my supervisors and managers.
Pros
Great coworkers, decent hours in total loss department
Cons
Low pay, little vacation time, very numbers oriented, it’s a call center
Very few people like insurance and very few people can stand call centers. When you put these both together, you get a bland industry and a stressful metrics focused climate.
Pros
Pay and benefits
Cons
Very stressful
Working for Geico I have been able to grow within the company in a short couple years. I have developed strong time management skills from this job and have applied it in my career
Pros
Profit sharing
Cons
Work load
Management likes to promote those they are friendly and familiar as oppose to providing growth opportunities. Compensation and bonuses are fair and worth the effort.
Pros
Pay
Cons
Culture
I turned down two other job offers to work for this company. Based on the great advertising they sell in the beginning about the wonderful benefits working for this company. After you get in the door is when the nightmare begins. The training was lazy, confusing, and overwhelming leading up to working on the floor which is a disaster. I find that the company is ran basically by children who have no idea what management is. This company really needs to consider starting fresh with hiring qualified older management before their brand is ruined.
Pros
Benefits, time off
Cons
Short breaks, short lunches, micromanaged
Very stressful job for less then desirable pay. Management only cared about your metrics not you. Customers were always rude.I personally don't feel like it's worth it to be constantly berated for 17/hr . If you have a thick skin and enjoy a fast paced call center environment you might enjoy it.
This customer service job is very metric driven. Some are easier to achieve than others. Most days are easy and customers can be nice. You will speak with customers who will belittle you and call you names and that is just part of the job. The call volume is high with calls being back to back almost all the time. It is only slow during the early morning hours and late night hours. Management with justify the call volume by telling the employees that this is the busy season because x, y, z reason. When you achieve high metrics you are rewarded very well but are encouraged to do even better which can be draining. You will work a weekend day. It will either be on a permanent or 3 week rotation. If you get lucky to score a rotational weekend you will work 6 days in a row and will have 3 days off the following week. If you are wanting to use your vacation time you have to request the days off at least a month in advanced or there will be too many people who have already requested the day off.
Pros
Great Pay, Great Job Security, Great Benefits
Cons
No Work/Life Balance, Poor Management, Rude Customers
Help us improve!
Is Indeed your favorite place to learn about companies?
Great potential to make a good salary but their is no work life balance. Work place culture is to work non stop. 30 minutes break per 8 and a half hour shift. Very little vacation time for the year and no sick leave.
Pros
Bonus pay
Cons
Short lunch break
Grant Sims Agency is the best! He’s an AMAZING and caring boss! I would recommend anyone I know to come work here as the pay is good and having a good boss is really invaluable!!!
Pros
Pay, incentives
Cons
None
If you don't mind being constantly micromanaged then this is the place for you! Pay is great, but the micromanaging does not make it worth it. They also have very little options for picking out a schedule. You only get Saturdays and Sundays off if you have a great numbers or are part of the higher ups.
I found it stressful constantly working to hit numbers but had a lot of support from supervisors. Feels like a family, coworkers passing by are always enthusiastic. Felt a bit micro-managed with supervisors meeting with you one on one every time you make a mistake, but I was still in the early learning process.
Pros
Good pay, extensive training, cool coworkers
Cons
Stressful job, short breaks, micro-management
Job could be boring at times, but it is about as work-life friendly as it can get for a litigation attorney. A lot of your experience depends on your supervisor and co-workers.
long workday but you learn a lot. you learn as you go but there is hardly any time for breathers. on the phone throughout entire day; taking inbound calls and making outbound calls. no time for side-convos equipment provided for wfh when covid hit.
Needs a more competitive salary Good opportunity for advancement Excellent training to ensure you have the tools and resources needed to do your job.
Pros
Advancement
Cons
Pay
Not a bad company, compensation could be better. Management does their best with the tools they are given. Customer service is tough, and can be stressful at times.
