Army National Guard selected this as a representative review
Amazing benefits however leadership can lack in certain places. Overall, they pay for my school and you get to serve your country without going active duty!
Pros
School paid for
Cons
Getting yelled at
You joined the Army so your rights are taken away, but you are compensated with benefits and a steady income. Promotions will be given to you eventually if you do the bare minimum.
Workload varies with the activity of the unit but it's incredibly rewarding to assist our soldiers and their families with any of there needs during the deployment cycle and through the pandemic.
Pros
Very welcoming workforce
Cons
There's a lot to learn so get up to speed fast
I have been able to travel to multiple countries to learn and protect there cultural from extremist , also been able to travel within the United States to train with multiple government agencies
Pros
Team building and educational benefits
Cons
Being deployed away from home for several months at a time
Would you recommend working at your company?
Help people considering your employer make a good choice.
Takes alot of time out of personal life, but the benefits are great. Can join as soon as you turn 17 and serve six years to get many benefits. Lots of training time in the beginning,
Get to See the world, meet good people. Professional organization and a good amount of time off. Can be called away at a moments notice but you know what your signing up for.
Pros
Good Scran
Cons
Officers
Help us improve!
Is Indeed your favorite place to learn about companies?
Don't join the guard...if you love the millitay life, you won't get enough of it to enjoy it. If you hate it, you still have to go every month and it's always the weekend that something Is going on that you would rather be at.
I joined at the age of Twenty I had no prior experience of that much order being in my life I was pushed to things I never thought I could and I thrived in an environment that I never knew I could thrive in it showed me that as long as you put the time and planned out a specific goal it can be achieved
Pros
Health Benefits, comradery, Travel, pay
Cons
Time away from family, interference with other interest, unexpected over time
You can only work so many hours a week. 2 of the guys that are full time they're were extremely rude and very condescending. This was in De Soto, MO. I wouldn't recommend working there especially as a civilian.
Pros
State benefits
Cons
Rude, condescending
Hit a a recruiter and they will get you signed up. The entry is rough but the educational benefits are awesome. I highly recommend if youre looking for stabillity
Pros
tricare
Cons
command
Plenty of career opportunities. Promotion based on merit. Opportunities for professional development and training. Challenging and rewarding career fields.
Pros
Compensation and Benefits
Cons
Potential deployment
No one wants to take accountability for their own workload. Always pushing responsibility off on coworkers. No training program and the training you do get isn't reliable.
Upon joining the National Guard, they expressed that there is no "I" in team and that the possibilities of trades and advancement within the organization would be endless, as long as you put in the work and energy.
Pros
On the job training
Very few serve in the Armed Forces. It is not easy, You miss birthdays, anniversaries and other events. When your commitment is up you will look back with pride.
Pros
Free cloths and travel
Cons
Deployments and a lot of training
Job security with great benefits . Predictable schedule and know schedule of training well in advance. Great foundation for somebody that doesn’t know what they really want to do in lifez
Unless you are in college or blandly have no goals. I recommend going active army. You will deploy to other countries and you must available, if your unit gets activated. I also recommend applying for MOS that align with your dream career or personal interest.
